Hi, I’m Alanna Smallwood! I’m so glad you’re visiting Ripened, a resource I created to encourage believers toward maturity in Christ.

Ephesians 4:13 summarizes the heartbeat of this blog: until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

It may seem like a daunting desire to attain to the fullness of Christ. I get that, I do! But this faith-life truly is about the step right in front of us. We can all focus on one step, and that’s what I hope this blog will encourage you to do: to bear fruit where you are planted, trusting God to give the growth in your heart and through your life.

I typically post bi-monthly, and you can subscribe via email to guarantee you’ll receive each post when it drops. You can unsubscribe at any time.

If there’s one word I feel encapsulates who I am, it is teacher. From playing school as a young girl, to helping my former classmates with homework, to pursuing a degree in education in my college years, teacher is the recurring theme in my life.

I currently am teacher to two sweet, yet rough-and-tumble little boys, ages 3 and 5. My wonderful husband of seven years, Shane, makes this possible by working tirelessly to provide for our family. Love you, babe.

Outside of writing and speaking, I love to worship Jesus and do so with our church choir. I love to bake, especially if it involves chocolate. I value honesty and loyalty in my relationships more than anything else.

Welcome to this webspace I call home. I pray you’ll always leave encouraged and empowered, full of faith in the One who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
